Where we started

lipa approached us to support and speed up their mobile app development process, as their team wanted to focus more on further developing the technology behind it. Luckily we not only have experience when it comes to UX-Design and technical development of native smartphone apps, but we also know the world of crypto and bitcoin - it was the perfect match.

What we did to get the app ready for its launch

lipa aimed to develop the lipa wallet app to simplify Bitcoin Lightning transactions and make them as fast and seamless as possible. To develop the app in a reasonable timeframe, lipa collaborates with blokk - and we are happy to work together in a fully integrated team consisting of developers and designers of blokk together with the team at lipa. We started work in late spring of 2023, primarily on the technical side of things. The clearer the goals and the scope became, the more we also helped in an advisory role when it came to user experience and visual design.

Looking forward: What’s next for the lipa app?

While we are excited to let everyone know that the app has launched and is now generally available, we are also excited about the next steps: Besides further technical developments, it is now also all about getting feedback, adjusting the user experience accordingly and making it available to a broad range of users. We look forward to providing even more value, particularly in the domains of UX Writing, but also localisation and general UX. We also look forward to many shops and business users allowing payments with Bitcoin Lightning at their points of sale, so that progress towards a financial system focused on decentralization can continue.
