Equihash is a memory-oriented proof-of-work algorithm, used by Bitcoin Gold and Zcash, which means how much mining you can do is mostly determined by how much RAM you have. In other words, it’s fairly ASIC-resistant with the idea to give mining back to the users who can start using CPUs and GPUs to mine.
